Lina Joy - Where is religious freedom in Malaysia ?FORUM

Religious Freedom in Malaysia is at stake. The Federal Court decision in Lina Joy's case has great repercussions. Great injustice is done to many non-muslims ( who do not practice the Islamic faith and have professed the other religions ) but technically considered as muslims in Malaysia because they have muslim names e.g. bin Abdullah. There are those youths and children who became muslims because of peer influence but now want to leave Islam are in a quandry. They are de facto non- muslims but cannot get married to non muslims. Some are leaving the country while others have ginen birth outside marriage ( they wanted to get legally married but could not ) and gave the reason the father is unknown or missing just to ensure their children will not be given muslim names. Religion is to bring goodness and well being to individuals but in our instant case it is bringing suffering to many unless the situation is rectified. Please do something before one of your family members or relatives become one of the victims.
