The announcement by the Home Ministry Secretary General, Tan Seri Mahmud Adam that the Government is planning to amend the printing and press Act to include internet media are both disastrous and a breach of honor. According to the report, the said amendment is scheduled to be tabled in Dewan Rakyat when the house resume in March, 2011.
All must remember when Malaysia launched its Multimedia supercoridor, the then Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir had given an unequivocal promise that there shall be no control or restriction on the free flow information on internet. As such, to renege from such open guarantee will means Malaysia is now a Banana Republic-- no word that can be trusted, now and forever.

太平区国会议员倪可敏今日呼吁政府尊重多媒体超级走廊憲章(MSC Charter)，信守不干涉互联网资讯自由的承诺，否则政府自身擬定的多媒体超级走廊憲章将毁于一旦。
倪可敏提醒政府，切勿忘记当年推介多媒体超级走廊时，政府曾向全球投资者公开承诺绝不干涉互联网的资讯自由；一旦政府毁诺，国家信誉将漡然无存，将来投资者更将退避三舍。
倪可敏也是吡州行动党秘书。他说，内政部秘书长丹斯里玛末阿当指政府将于三月国会提呈出版法令修正案，法案包括管制互联网媒体的言论巳引起极大反弹。虽然首相署部长纳兹里表示不知情，总检察长丹斯里阿都干尼却表示巳看过该法案，政府内部各执一词、莫衷一是，令人民深感混乱。
倪氏指出，若政府管制互联网媒体，这不但开倒车，更是威权主义的浮现；这不利我国欲打造东方矽谷的宏愿。他呼吁政府信守承诺，否则再三的出尔反尔将让我国沦为令人不齿的“香蕉共和国”(Banana Republic)。
倪可敏今日联同后廊区州议员姚天和及吡州政治教育局主任郑国霖率领太平国州议员服务队拜访太平综合公市，同时赠送1000份印刷精美的日历与太平市民后向媒体如是表示。其他出席者包括太平小贩商业公会会长陈天贵、行动党州宣传局主任刘长一、<阳光计划>副主席黄再兴及太平区社青团团长黄汶课等众多基层领袖。
